One of my favorite things about working on Gender Euphoria, the Podcast, is getting to be in conversation with brilliant queer and gender nonconforming artists, activists, and educators. This time around I had the chance to bring together two people who I have had the privilege to learn from and introduce them to one another. I enjoyed our conversation so, so much and am 100% already scheming to find a time and place for the three of us to come together again.

Making Space for Self-Authorship through Audio Description
with guests H. May and Liz Thomson
Host Nicolas Shannon Savard, director Dr. H. May, and educator Dr. Liz Thomson discuss the creative and collaborative possibilities that emerge when audio description (AD) is made an integral part of the artistic process, as opposed to solely an accommodation for individual audience members. They critique traditional models of AD which demand objectivity and propose alternative approaches which embrace self-determination, specificity of lived experience, and universal design.
