Accessibility Information
The venue:
The building that houses Maelstrom Collaborative Arts is not ADA accessible. I’ll provide information below to give a sense of the space and accessibility considerations.
Parking:
Accessible parking spaces located on the right side of W. 54th Street, toward the back of the building. There is a curb cut at the driveway leading behind the building. It’s roughly 50 feet from the entrance to the venue. Audience will enter through the side door on W. 54th.
Entering the space:
Audience members will enter through the side door of the building (on W. 54th Street). The performance space is on the ground floor, down a short hallway. There is one step up into the doorway; there is a ramp available, but the incline is relatively sharp.
Seating:
The performance space accommodates 50 people. The layout will be rows of individual armless, metal, padded chairs; seats are relatively easy to move. Guests will enter at the back of the performance space. Should you need to get up during the show, use the restroom, momentarily step outside or into the hallway, please take care of yourself and return when you’re ready.
Restroom:
There is a single occupancy, gender neutral bathroom located at the back of the performance space. If you are sitting in the audience, it is the door furthest to the left.
